Meet the Justice for All Party‘s Presidential candidate, Dr. Cornel West, and his Vice Presidential running mate, Dr. Melina Abdullah.

In case you missed presidential candidates Biden and Trump in Beverly Hills and Laguna Beach this past week, and while candidates scrap and scrape nationwide to secure every electoral college vote, Pasadena Media’s Arroyo Channel host of Conversation Live, James Farr (full disclosure – a past grant recipient from Pasadena Media Foundation), is moderating a “Meet the Candidates” forum for the independent third-party candidates for President and Vice President.

“Legal accountability now deeply affects both Donald Trump and Joe Biden with the convictions of Trump and Hunter Biden. Escalating levels of corruption will continue to be manifest. Surely America deserves better than this!”

We haven’t interviewed either candidate, but Farr’s press release promises “a meaningful and thought-provoking discussion” focusing on West’s left-leaning policies regarding economics, workers, the environment, health, racial justice, voting rights, education, LGBTQ+ issues, immigration and gun violence.

Dr. West is a frequent guest on news programs nationwide and has prominent theological and activist credentials. He is a former Professor of Practice of Public Philosophy at Harvard University and holds the title of Professor Emeritus at Princeton University. He has also taught at Union Theological Seminary, Yale, and the University of Paris.

Dr. Melina Abdullah is a professor of Pan-African Studies at Cal-State LA, a leader in the fight for racial justice, and a co-founder of the Los Angeles chapter of Black Lives Matter. Her work focuses on community engagement, activism and the pursuit of equality.

June 16, 2024 update: The location for this event has been changed from the Rector’s Forum at All Saints Episcopal Church to a virtual in-studio discussion.
