For Los Angeles County residents impacted by wildfires, today, March 31st, is the final day to apply for disaster assistance from FEMA, disaster loans from SBA, and disaster unemployment assistance.
- Apply for FEMA assistance by 8:59 p.m. today Monday, March 31. Apply at disasterassistance.gov, with a FEMA representative at a Disaster Recovery Center or call FEMA at 1-800-621-3362.
- SBA Disaster Loans: Small businesses and most private nonprofit organizations located in a declared disaster area and which have suffered substantial economic injury may be eligible for a Small Business Administration Economic Injury Disaster Loan. Visit the SBA Web site for more details.
- Disaster Unemployment Assistance: If you lost your job or can’t work because of a disaster, you may qualify for unemployment, disability, or Paid Family Leave benefits. For more details and to apply, click here.
Right of Entry Extension
In addition, the deadline to submit a Right of Entry forms has been extended to April 15th. If you have not opted into the Right of Entry program yet — now is the time. You can still change your mind and have the debris removed at your own expense but consider opting into the program to keep your options open.

If you choose to opt-out of the government debris removal program, you must submit an opt-out form here. Property owners who choose to hire private contractors for fire debris removal can then receive an Eaton Fire Debris Removal permit via the County’s EPIC-LA system. For more details, click here.
