Honey, There’s a Russian Propagandist from Las Vegas at the Door

Eaton Fire: Don't nobody bring me no good news.

We now know the Eaton Fire was caused by two factors: diversity and inclusion.

The burning McDonald’s at Washington Boulevard and Altadena Drive? A symbol of the failed American Dream of globalization.

Why was there low water pressure? Because the United States sent funding for a reservoir and FEMA to Ukraine.

Marauders swarm Pasadena neighborhoods, robbing houses and shops. It’s a “branch of hell on Earth.”

Welcome to the Topsy-turvy Russian news reporting of Las Vegas-based Izvestia correspondent Nikolai Masterov, who interviewed traumatized Pasadena residents on Brigden Road the day after the Eaton Fire ignited.

Masterov, who identified himself to residents as a reporter for REN TV (one of several Izvestia-managed television channels), edited together a series of actualities featuring rapid-fire video clips of neighbors viewing the smoking ruins of Pasadena houses.

The resulting news report, intended for viewing within Russia, blamed the LGBT community (banned in Russia as an extremist organization) for replacing male fire fighters with women and handing-over fire-fighting equipment to Kiev.

California Governor Gavin Newsom was especially criticized for reducing the state’s fire-fighting budget to fund a “transgender cafe and to celebrate LGBT heritage month.”

Newsom wasn’t the only public official singled out. City of Los Angeles Fire Chief Kristin Crowley was accused of promoting, “ideas of tolerance, she spent more money on that than preparing for disasters. As a result, there is no water in the hydrants.”

Perhaps the oddest of the odd claims about Eaton Fire damage was Masterov’s comment that, “the fire did not spare low-budget housing.” Perhaps Zillow may be wrong, then, about home valuations ranging from $1-2.5M in the Brigden Ranch neighborhood.

Who knew?

“I’ve never been arrested,” said Brigden Road resident Susan Hopkins, who was interviewed by Masterov after responding to his urgent knock at the door. “But if I ever see this guy again I’m gonna punch him in the nose.”
