Evacuation Warnings and Orders in Sierra Madre

Flooding, mud and debris flows likely says Sheriff's Department.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has announced the following evacuation warnings and orders for high-risk areas in Sierra Madre due to storm debris flows over the Eaton Fire burn scar and flash flooding in the local mountains.

The evacuation order boundaries are, roughly, the following:

  • South: West Carter Avenue / East Grand View Avenue
  • East: Santa Anita Avenue / Santa Anita Canyon Road
  • North: Baily Canyon Wilderness Park / Sierra Madre Debris Basin
  • West: North Sunnyside Avenue

UPDATE: The evacuation zone is closed to public access.

Residents should anticipate minor to moderate flooding and mud / debris flows.

No street parking is allowed in the affected areas. Parking on all other streets in Sierra Madre is permissible. Overnight parking restrictions are paused on all streets that are NOT in the Evacuation Warning or Evacuation Order areas. 

These orders are in effect from 7:00 AM on Wednesday, March 12th through 6:00 PM on Thursday, March 13th, 2025.
