We at Pasadena Media Foundation have made it our mission to save local news.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have awarded a dozen grants to Pasadena-based journalists and news entities to ensure local stories continue to be reported.

Many of the grants provided journalists with tools of the trade used to research award-winning articles and interviews. Other grants provided area news organizations immediate short-term funding to retain local beat reporters.

Now we want to give more. By publishing Local News Pasadena we are raising the visibility of Pasadena’s stories in the making, as told by local correspondents. And you can help with our goal.

Simply by reading our reports or contributing news tips, you are realizing the value of local news coverage.

We hope you will become fans and sign-up for our free email newsletter. The sign-up form is at the bottom of this page. And we want you to tell your friends about something provocative you learned about Pasadena after spending a few moments here.

Many journalists and media sources will tell you democracy isn’t a noun, it’s a verb. We believe that as well. And we also know that reporting off the beaten path frequently takes us somewhere unexpected.

This is your invitation to come along with us. As a free subscriber you’ll be doing your part to keep this democratic process alive. And we think you’ll get a kick out of it.
